A couple of years ago, I was due to have my first meeting with the CEO of a major investment bank. As luck had it I was told of his love for Bruce Springsteen, who was about to tour in Australia. As it happens, the Boss was my all time favourite. So when I shook the CEO’s hand, I said: “So, I hear you are a big fan of Bruce, are you going to see him at Hanging Rock.” The CEO said he missed out on tickets. This gave me the perfect opening to utilize some of my contacts to shore up some tickets for himself and his wife. It gave me the opportunity to share a small part of my revelry of the great man and soon we established a bond and we got down to business.
